Advanced Mediation Training: Witnessing the Power of Transformation

As a divorce mediator and trainer, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing remarkable transformations firsthand. Not just within the families navigating the complexities of their separation, but also within the mediators themselves who choose to invest in their skills and knowledge. Today, I want to share what I’ve learned from facilitating an Advanced Divorce Mediation Training program.

Advanced Mediation Training for Mediators of all Experience Levels

The program brought together mediators at various stages of their careers. Some were
just starting out, eager to build a solid foundation. Others were seasoned professionals seeking to refresh their skills and expand their techniques. Regardless of their experience level, there was a collective spirit of dedication and growth.

The learning wasn’t confined to theory and lectures. Participants actively engaged in role-playing simulations, facilitated discussions, and shared their own experiences. Through feedback from experienced coaches, I got the warm fuzzies seeing people improve week after week for three consecutive weeks.

A Transformative Experience

What truly inspired me, and fills my tank as a trainer, was witnessing the transformation in each participant. As they mastered new skills and gained confidence, I saw a shift in their perspectives. They were no longer just mediators; they were becoming trusted guides and facilitators of positive change.

The impact of this advanced training extends far beyond the individual mediators. Their enhanced skills and expertise translate into better outcomes for the families they will serve. Additionally, I am able to borrow some techniques they try in simulations, and I find I am a better mediator through training others.

This experience reinforces my belief that continuous learning and development are crucial for any mediator. By investing in advanced training, you equip yourself with the tools and knowledge needed to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of others.

Sharing What We’ve Learned

Lastly, as we all seek validation and appreciation for our efforts, this comment made on an evaluation form motivates me to continue to share what I have learned and pass it along to others.

This training was excellent! It filled in the last few missing pieces for me before I launched my divorce mediation practice. The training was very practical and illustrated how to work collaboratively with divorce professionals from related professions, like CDFAs and CDLPs. The simulations were more advanced than what is offered in more introductory courses which was an excellent opportunity to refine practical skills. I feel much better prepared to launch my divorce mediation practice than I did prior to the course. We made great connections as well!
