With over 10 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate the divorce process, Marya is committed to helping divorcing couples move forward in a way that respects their individual needs and points of view while letting them maintain control of the process. She has found family mediation to be the best solution for many couples looking to part ways without incurring the costs and stress of a drawn-out litigation.

Marya is a Mediator, Certified Divorce Financial AnalystTM, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®. She is also a trained Parenting Coordinator and a Fellow with the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.

Matthew Carroll

Matthew Carroll, a registered mediator with the Supreme Court of Indiana, brings a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication to the field of domestic and civil mediation. As the co-owner of Keystone Mediation, based in Dyer, Indiana, he has played a pivotal role in resolving a wide range of disputes. Additionally, Matthew serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies, where he imparts his extensive knowledge and expertise to the next generation of mediators as instructor for Northwestern’s Divorce Mediation class and as a coach for their Civil Mediation Skills class.

Committed to giving back to his community, Matthew volunteers as a mediator with both the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR) in Chicago, Illinois, and the Community Justice and Mediation Center (CJAM) in Bloomington, Indiana. His dedication to the mediation profession extends to providing mentorship opportunities, training, and coaching. He has also been a sought-after guest speaker, contributing to seminars and presentations for organizations such as the American Bar Association (ABA), Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), and the Indiana Association of Mediators (IAM).

Matthew is deeply involved in several professional organizations that reflect his commitment to excellence in mediation. He is the current Vice President at the Indiana Association of Mediators and is recognized as a Certified Practitioner by the Academy of Professional Family Mediators. His memberships extend to the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the American Bar Association, and the Lake County Bar Association in Crown Point, Indiana.

At Keystone Mediation, Matthew adeptly facilitates resolutions in a variety of areas, including the dissolution of marriages, legal separations, parenting plans, property division, child support matters, small business conflicts, landlord/tenant disputes, and peer mediation trainings. In addition to his mediation practice, he is a registered Parenting Coordinator with the Supreme Court of Indiana, further demonstrating his commitment to helping families navigate challenging situations.

Before dedicating himself to mediation, Matthew enjoyed an illustrious 18-year career as a Grammy® and Emmy® Award-winning professional musician. He collaborated with diverse artists from around the world and played an active role in the collective bargaining negotiation process, serving as a labor negotiator for the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) where he remains a life member for his dedicated service to the Guild.

Beyond his professional life, Matthew embraces a diverse range of interests and pursuits. He is a devoted father and husband, an enthusiastic hiker, a passionate sports enthusiast, a discerning movie buff, and a staunch advocate for the arts. This multifaceted approach to life enriches his perspective and enhances his ability to connect with clients and colleagues alike, making him a highly regarded figure in the world of mediation.
